Earlier tonight I had the chance to walk the runway for Beauty Through the Storm hosted by Chosen to Conquer and my local mall’s fashion board that I am a member of. It was a great experience and I had a lot of fun.
This look is so perfect for summer. It looks casual even though I am wearing heels and the braid is easy to do. The original dress was from Rue 21, the vest is by Self Esteem, and you can buy the exact necklace here and the exact heels here.
For my hair, I just did a simple fishtail braid leaving out a few of the shorter layers of the front and curling them. I took a piece of fabric I had and wrapped it around the end, forming a bow.
This dress and flats are surprisingly normal for a runway look but dresses from this brand are thousands of dollars and the shoes are expensive as well. My look is $132.98 total.

Rule the Runway is my new series where I take runway looks and find cheaper and more wearable versions. Today I found a yellow dress and taupe booties and clutch from the Gucci Resort 2015 collection.
The combination of a midi dress and mid-calf boots would not be flattering on most people so I opted for a shorter (but still classy) dress and booties instead.
